Romantic Getaway...

Johnson Mill Bed and Breakfast in Midway, Utah

I rarely blog about my cute hubby! Usually I talk of the fun from that day and the cute things the kids say and do. I guess I fit the "mommy blogger" stereotype. Well, this one's for the hubby!

Last Thursday I was running around with my head cut off getting ready for our Youth Pioneer Trek and a million other things, while playing single mom. Chip was in Texas and was going to be home in two days. He called me on the phone amidst the chaos and we starting talking. It was our 11-year anniversary and he was in Texas, not due home for two days. We'd planned to celebrate upon his return that weekend.

He asked me, "So, what do you want for our anniversary?"

"Well, for you to come home," I replied, knowing good and well that that wasn't going to happen.

One minute later the door bell rang and there he was! The timing couldn't have been more perfect! I was elated!

"Pack your bags," he said. "Becky (his sister) is coming to watch the kids for the night."

He had the whole thing planned: picnic, canoe ride, paddle boats, river, waterfall, and the honeymoon suite at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast! We enjoyed a yummy dinner! We didn't know what to do with ourselves with all the free time! The greatest gift was he left his cell phone at home! This is serious!!

Since I wasn't in charge of packing, we didn't have our camera! Darn it! We finished our celebrating the next day by buying some super cool bikes. I found a powder blue cruiser and I am so excited about it! It was such a treat to spend time with my sweetheart!

LOVE YOU, HONEY! Here's to many more years together!

Oh, wow! First off, that place is GORGEOUS! How fun!! Second, I LOVE when hubbies surprise like that. I love it when Greg comes home from a trip early and calls me from the driveway. AND, I love it when he plans a trip without me knowing. So, to have them both at the same time!? BLISS!!!

Love it. We stayed that the Johnson Mill last month for our 5th and I LOVED it. I thought it was going to be lame staying at a bed and breakfast in our home town but I told Gregg I would do it over and over again on our anniversary every year. It was kind of nice (and convenient)being so close to home. Congratulations! I look up to you as a couple!

PS- Have you gone on Trek yet? I would love to pick your brain about ideas after you have gone. We go in three weeks.
