Her Mantra...

When you own your own business you get special perks, you know, like expensive health insurance- It's really cool! For several years we were paying as much as $600-$1000.00 a month! We never get sick and rarely go to the doctor so you can imagine our excitement each month when we flushed that money down the drain! Who needs a college fund?

So, because we had to pay out of pocket for each and every child, Chip has affectionately dubbed each one of them, "the little, more expensive-kinds."

If you tell someone something long enough it sticks! I think this has become her mantra! From the second she opens her eyes she starts signing shoes! I can't even get her out of the crib before she asks for them!

She wears her shoes all day! She also brings us our shoes; she wants us lookin' good, too!

The funniest thing she does is find anything round: toys, tape, rubber bands, trash, and puts them on like a bracelet. She pats her arm and says, "P-e-t-t-y! Oh, WOW, WOW!!" She will bring me her hair bows and bow her head down so I can place them on her head! She continues to be that little, more expensive-kind!

Ooh, we know all about girly girls around our house! It's amazing how young it starts and how it is a gender thing, not necessarily learned. Good luck with her as she gets older;)

It's a good thing they are cute huh? Love the bracelet part, my son does that too, only he thinks they make him tough. Great pictures!

A girl and her shoes!!! But I have to ask, how do you get her to keep headbands on? Mine would rip them off faster than you could say......

Happy PSF!

Gabrielle wanted to take her shoes off today, but I knew that she would not like that. I hope my girls were OK today. I love the temple square photos, I might need you to take a photo of us with that fancy camera!

Ugh, health insurance is way too expensive.

My girls wouldn't sit longer than 10 seconds with a bow in their hair. Lucky you.

Oh, I LOVE that she is such a girly-girl. LOVE the shoe fetish. Derick signs shoe all the time, too. :-) She is seriously so cute!

Too cute! I think girls by nature are just more expensive. Hannah was OBSESSED with shoes around 14 months (and still is) and she would sign and say SHOES! ALL DAY LONG.

What a cutie. I'm sure she has great shoes too!

Oh, yeah, I don't miss the buy-your-own-health-insurance perk of business ownership. :)

GEEEEEEEZ she is CUTE!!! It sounds like she and Evie would be fabulous friends...they both love shoes (still pronounced 'shooooosh' in our house) AND pretties!

That's too cute! You'll have to take her to Nordstrom someday and shoe her their shoe selection :) Sorry about the insurance by the way - you used it for your head right? That was something :)

So cute!! Yes, girls are expensive! My husband always tell kids we bought Austen from Home Depot, Kylee from NOrdstrom (Which is so true about her) and Sage from Pet Mart. ha.

I love it! She is just like my Emily. Chip's nick name is awesome. Each of our babies has cost more, and it stinks!

These pictures are just SO adorable! After seeing her little monkey impression it would be hard to say no to her. I'm sure as she grows and talks more, Chip will have that same problem.... :)

She is so stinkin' cute Laura, I am sad Becky and I didn't get a chance to see you last weekend. When are you leaving for the summer again?

You are so fun and creative. Jace is in a shoe phase now and loves them. Although I think his will last only momentarily and make way for the boy stuff:) Have fun and I am sorry about the health insurance thing. That was actually our breaking point to stop full time bug killing (they wouldn't even take Jaxon unless we had our own group plan 1800 a month yikes). So horrible!

Laura,

Thanks for visiting our "Glenns in Africa" blog. We are having one of the greatest experiences of our life here. We are currently doing Humanitarian projects in Uganda, Southern Sudan and Rwanda. Your blog is great...it reminds us of our grand kids that we left behind for 18 mos. We are grateful for SKYPE.
