"Nope- There's Nothin' In My Noggin' "
Funny how when you are pregnant- the baby takes all "the good stuff" from you! I am just fine with that! Of course I want the very best for my kiddos- but she could spare a few brain cells for her ol' mom, right about now!
You know that feeling when you walk into a room and you can't remember what it is you needed in there? This problem "runs in my family... well, at least...I think it does!" For weeks now, I have been a pure, bona fide ding-dong and it's a wonder that I manage to get up and get anything done everyday!
Last week we were minding our business- eating our breakfast, when the door bell rang. "Who could that be?" I thought. Well, I could see through the shutters that it was my visiting teachers! I completely forgot they were coming and we were all still hangin' out in our pj's eating breakfast. I made a mad dash upstairs to try and at least change my clothes and look half-way presentable. But- there was no getting around it! Thomas trains and tracks were all over the family room. Chip managed to get them seated on the couch and I was rather embarrassed when I came down, to say the least!!
Same thing the week before- I completely forgot about my food assignment at a ward function. I show up- empty handed, to again, feel like an idiot! What is wrong with me?
I told my neighbor I would start picking her son up from school and bring him home, since she just had a baby! I FORGOT on the first day! Good thing the KID remembered and found ME outside the school! Seriously, need some help here, people!
You know you are in trouble when your 3-year-old beats you at the memory game- EVERY time! My attention span is nil!
Well- I only have 12 weeks left until this little bundle enters the world- let's hope I regain those brain cells or we might be checking ourselves into a mental hospital!

Ha! It gets even worse for me after they're born. That's why I have to make so many lists. I've never recovered the brain cells I've lost :)
Oh, I so know that feeling. I hate it!!! I seem to be the same lately and I have NO excuse. It's a little scary.
At least you have an excuse. I walked into the living room 3 times and back out again. On the third time Blake asked what I was doing. Don't know had to get something can't remember what. Um my ipod! I remembered when I sat down for the 3rd time at the computer. Seriously that is bad and I have no bun in the oven. But at least my kids are smart!
You have a good excuse for it being preggo, but I am like that still! Maybe after 4 kiddos the brain cells are just pretty much gone and well...now, what was I going to say?! Seriously, I do the walk in and out of a room thing several times a day. I have to write everything down and keep it in front of my face or I will forget. Hang in there! We are all there with ya! :)
Okay, I've tried twice now to leave you a comment and I just can't seem to type in tnose letters right. What's wrong with me?? Now I can't remember what I was going to say. Something about me remembering what it's like to be being pregnant.....
You probably won't get this comment because i probably won't be able to type the letters again. Am I dislexic?
Thanks for the salt dough recipe! I wish I would have had it last week. Ryker had to make a salt dough map of Idaho and the recipe we used was junk, the map turned out okay, but it was hard to shape. Can't wait to try yours.
hey-- I totally hear you... and for me at least, I have not yet regained brain cells... DANG IT!
A couple of months ago I was happily driving home from Fort Worth and Kurt calls to tell me my v.t.ers are there. Oh... I felt so bad.
Very funny post. Laura you crack me up girl!
This is when you need to take advantage of your situation! Right now, when you do something forgetful or lame, just look at whoever is around and say, "Sorry, my brain is pregnant!"
See, now that my face and stomach aren't (as) swollen, no one assumes automatically that any lamebrained thing I do is out of my control because of my hormone swollen brain!
Judging by all your comments, we all feel you on this one!

Just think how smart your little kiddos will be after sucking out all your brain cells, though. It's worth it!!
