My Own Potato Peel Pie Society

One thing I have missed from Texas was getting together with the ladies once a month for Book Club. I always looked forward to the adult conversation and a chance to flex our brain muscles and feast on the comments made by each. After reading this darling book this summer, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

Last night I finally "feasted on the words" once again and hosted our first Book Club dinner. The menu consisted of lots 'o potatoes, in honor of the book title. We also enjoyed a little strawberry salad and French bread from Kneaders.

I gave each lady a pen, a beaded bookmark, stationary, and envelopes. This book is made up entirely of letters, back and forth between friends and strangers alike. There is nothing like getting a letter or note in the (real) mail- not just via email.

I can't wait for next month, and the months to come! If you have ever wanted to be in a book club, DO IT! Start your own! It is such a treat!

Wow--when I saw that 1st photo of your table setting, I instantly recalled your BEAUTIFUL buffet table at your sweet baby girl's blessing a few (few?!) months back.

You've got a talent, sister.
