This has been such a FUN week! Thursday we rode the Polar Express and the kids had a GREAT time! It was snowing and the sun was setting as we set off to the North Pole! There was music, hot chocolate and cookies handed out by the elves. It felt like a page right out the book! The ride wasn't complete until we picked up Santa and he walked around passing out bells and asking each child what they wanted for Christmas! The kids were in heaven!
We had our ward Christmas Party on Saturday morning and the kids we so cute up there singing Jingle Bells! William LOVED being one of the big kids!
Of course seeing Santa was another highlight of the party! Seeing him two times in one week was SUPER exciting for them! They mentioned a few other toys that weren't on their list- huuummm? How do they manage to change things up once the gifts have already been purchased?
We finally got things around the house in the spirit of Christmas- just in time to be dumped on for DAYS! It's been a winter wonderland around here and we LOVE it! Most of our neighbors have snow blowers or 4-wheelers with a snow plow on the front and they frequently beat us to our walks! They are so awesome!
Inspired by my friend Julie, I had all of my Christmas shopping (minus Chip) done by December 1st. I had all 140 Christmas cards stamped, stuffed, addressed and ready to go- all I needed was the picture from Costco and they were ready to go! It felt good to get those out the door! I wanted to get as much done as I could before we head to Dallas for another sibling wedding (the fourth one in six months). Don't worry- the fun's not over- wedding #5 is in February!
We put the train under the tree and the boys can't get enough of it! They want to eat every meal out there so they can watch the train go around and around! Hope you too are having fun getting ready for the BIG DAY!

How fun! I just read Megan's post and now yours. I sure do wish we had driven down and riden the Polar Express. We will have to do that next year for sure. Your house looks beautiful all decorated for Christmas.
Well, you are better than me. I do have pretty much all the shopping done, but not the cards. Hopefully I'll get that done this week.
Hope you are doing well!
Merry Christmas.
Katri- I just saw your MIL at church today- she is so sweet!
Gorgeous!!! I can't believe you have 140 cards. That's amazing. I have 91. That sounds so small compared to you. I can't wait to see them.
I haven't even started my Christmas letter! Ack! Being busy really interferes with getting household things done. I should have delegated the letter to hubby like I have in years past!
Rochelle- we have moved nine times- plus we both have people from our missions: Pres, families, comps we keep in touch with- it just adds up so fast! I didn't hand make them- like some ambitious people ;) maybe next year!
Katrina- if I passed the job over to Chip- people wouldn't get their card until well in Jan ;)
Are you serious? 140 cards? I haven't sent ONE out in four years. Man, I suck! Kudos to you for getting everything done already! Your house looks fabulous!
I'm so glad my little Christmas plan inspired you. I have found a drawback though, when all my shopping is done before December, I still find some fun little odds and ends to pick up and then I buy more than I should. It is a price I am willing to pay for the peace of mind though. You house looks beautiful. Can't wait to get my card.
Laura it looks like so much fun. I wish we would have been able to go on the Polar Express with you guys. I love your house is looks beautiful.I am so happy to have all the shopping and cards mailed as well. Now just the wrapping!

I love your front porch! So festive. Don't you love having your cards done? Wow.
love, Love, LOVE your door. It looks so beautiful! The train ride sounds like a dream for kids - such a fun activity. And all your shopping done by Dec 1st? What a great idea!!
WOW! You're done!? I had big plans for starting our Christmas cards in the summer time...never happened, and I guess it simply isn't going to happen at all this year. I'm impressed that you're getting so much done...shouldn't you being resting those feet? Eight months pregnant!!! WOW!!
How do you know about that train ride? That sounds like fun! Let us know next year when you buy your tickets.
Wow, I just noticed that you are 8 months. Wow! Hang in there!
