3 Weddings And A Funeral...MINE... well, almost!

This has been the summers of all summers! Not only does my husband live in another state half the time- and the morning sickness has been overwhelming- but when the summer is all over we will have had three siblings get married.

This would be no big deal if all we had to worry about was what to wear and what gift we should buy them. Oh, no... that would be too easy!! Instead, my family likes to DO IT ALL! When I say all, I REALLY mean it! Between a few of us, we manage to take care of the flowers, food, decorating, planning, cake, pictures (engagements, bridals, wedding day), wedding dinner, set-up and clean up! Some how we seem to think we are cutting costs! I don't think we are adding up the cost on our lives let alone our sanity!

I think we need to come up with a price sheet and as each wedding comes around we can pull it out and figure out how much we are "planing to spend on this one." I thought it could go a little something like this:

Pictures: $ 20 strands of grey hair $
Flowers: $ 5 extra pounds from over eating when stressed $
Planning: $ 3 months before of no sleep because we stay awake thinking of the details $
Cake: $ 2 dark circles under the eyes $
Set up and Clean up: $ 1 year off your life $
Wedding Dinner: $ 2 days of not talking to your spouse afterwards$

Maybe if we remembered to pull this out each time we would be less likely to want to do it all!

On the bright side- we did inherit three wonderful in-laws! Welcome to the family Megan, Whitney and Tyler. Don't get too comfortable, we'll be putting you to work soon, too!

Wow, Laura you have really been busy!! Did you take ALL the pictures? I bet they look BEAUTIFUL! At least it's all over and you can finally rest, well as best you can with two kids and one on the way.

BTW, totally love your blog name!

I did all the pictures for my SIL's wedding. My sister took over for my brother's in June- and I think we will share the load for my brother that is about to get married.

It was so funny to run into you, Rochelle and to have seen Katrina minutes before-too! I had to try and remember which state I was in- It felt like Texas!

I like your list of the actual cost/benefit analysis. Aren't your parents also into doing their own remodeling? Wow! I am so impressed!

Yes- my parent's home is over a 100 years old. They have slowly over the years done one room at a time. It's crazy and fun too!
